ARRIVAL / DISMISSAL
Arrival
South Salem Elementary has two main modes of transportation: Car Riders and Bus Riders. Car Riders enter through the front doors of the school. Bus Riders
enter through the bus loop doors. The earliest time for students is 7:05. Please see below for Arrival Procedures:
Special Transportation:
-Special Transportation students will need to be dropped off in the bus loop.
-There will be teachers present to intercept students and escort them into the gym side doors.
Bus Riders:
-Bus Riders will be dismissed from their respective buses in the bus loop at 7:05 and proceed into the building.
-There will be staff members present to monitor students as they enter into the building.
Car Riders (Please see below for diagram of car rider lane):
-Students will be dropped off in front and enter into the front doors of the building.
-Staff members will be present to monitor students as they exit their cars and enter into the building.
Dismissal
-Early checkout for students ends at 1:30. This is a district policy.
-Please send all transportation changes to your student's teacher prior to 1:00.
-South Salem Elementary has two main modes of transportation for dismissal: Car Riders and Bus Riders. Dismissal begins at 1:50 for Special Transportation. All Special Transportation dismissal will take place in the bus loop. Students will be picked up by bus or by car in the bus loop area.
-Dismissal for Gen. Ed. students begins at 2:05. South Salem utilizes the Simple Dismissal platform to dismiss students. Bus Riders and Daycare students will be dismissed into the bus loop. Car Riders will be dismissed to the front of the school. After all buses leave, car riders will begin dismissal to the bus loop in addition to the front.
-All Car Rider students will receive a tag number for dismissal.
