Newton County Schools will once again offer summer meals at no cost for children 18 years old and younger or 21 and younger for those with disabilities through the district’s 2026 Summer Meals Program. The program is designed to help ensure children in the community continue to have access to nutritious meals while school is out for the summer.
The district will offer two convenient meal service options this summer: weekly meal pick-up locations and daily on-site meal locations.
Weekly Meal Pick-Up Program
Beginning Wednesday, June 3 through Wednesday, July 1, families may pick up seven breakfasts and seven lunches per child each week at designated locations throughout the community.
Meals will be distributed every Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. or until all meals have been served.
Parents or guardians may pick up meals without children being present, and children are not required to eat meals on site.
Weekly meal pick-up locations include:
• Heard-Mixon Elementary School
• Mansfield Elementary School
• Middle Ridge Elementary School
• Oak Hill Elementary School
• Asbury Park — 104 W. Watson Street, Oxford, GA
Daily On-Site Meals Program
Newton County Schools will also provide daily meals Monday through Thursday from June 1 through June 25, 2026, at several community locations. A variety of hot and cold meal items will be served daily.
For the daily meals program, children must be present and meals must be eaten on site.

Pleasant View Baptist Church

Breakfast: 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.

Covington Housing Authority
5160 Alcovy Road, Covington
Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Nelson Heights Community Center
7200 Laseter Street SE, Covington
Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
